Our Visitor Information Centre, located at 348 Water Street, opens for the season on Mon. May 22. We are open 7 days a week 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including all statutory holidays.

Due to instructor availability the Mews Centre aquatic fitness classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 to 8:20pm, will be cancelled for the remainder of the Spring effective May 18, 2023. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

Today, Deputy Mayor Sheilagh O’Leary was joined by artist Molly Margaret and provincial government representatives at the official unveiling of a new mural on Harvey Road. The mural was created by Molly Margaret and Lily Taylor and celebrates the meaning of home to people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Today, City Council approved an updated Traffic Calming Policy following public engagement and a comprehensive review of the former process in 2022.
The new policy clearly defines how to evaluate whether a given street is eligible for traffic calming, and what steps need to take place throughout the process.
